From 1 April, Horizon’s drug and alcohol service will be delivered by CGL. Horizon will continue to support people in Blackpool, and sexual health and harm reduction services are not changing.
To support this change, there will be a short period at the end of March and start of April where some drug and alcohol services will be affected.
What to expect over the next few weeks
During this short period, some locations and services will operate differently while systems are updated and staff move across to the new provider.
Lighthouse, 102 Dickson Road
- Thursday 27 March, Monday 30 March, and Tuesday 31 March
Lighthouse will be closed on these days for IT installation.
Winstone House
- Week beginning Monday 30 March
The service will run at a reduced level, and close slightly earlier at 3pm on 31 March.
There will be no planned appointments, but you can still contact the service or attend if you need support.
Groups and late night clinics
- There will be no group sessions and no late night clinics running during the week beginning 30 March.
1 and 2 April
- On Tuesday 1 April and Wednesday 2 April, the drug and alcohol service will be delivered by CGL colleagues so staff can get started with the service.
Buvidal clinics
- Buvidal clinics will take place on:
- Monday 30 March
- Thursday 2 April

What is not changing
- You can continue to access sexual health and harm reduction support as normal.
- Support remains free, confidential, and non-judgemental.
- You will continue to be treated with respect and supported in a way that works for you.
Keeping you informed
We will continue to share clear, up to date information with you and with partner organisations. If any of these short-term changes affect you directly, we will explain what this means and how to stay in touch with the service.
