Sexual Health can be a sensitive and embarrassing subject.
- Where can you get tested that isn't your local GP surgery?
- Who can you talk to about a positive diagnosis for HIV or Hepatitis or treatment for an STI?
- Where can you get free condoms and lube, including a postal service to keep you supplied.
And for YOU...
If you are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or questioning then finding a comfortable "zone" to be yourself can be helpful. We also support victims of hate crime.
Including YOU too...
Or maybe you have gender concerns or questions and would like to talk to someone who understands.
No judgement, harm prevention reduction
Using drugs, including steroids, or engaging in chemsex? No questions asked - you can get clean needle packs from us. You don't even have to have used needles to exchange (but we can dispose of those too of course). We can also offer help and advice if you're using, with no judgement and in complete confidence.
All of these services are offered by Horizon at 102 Dickson Road, FY1 2BU
The Horizon team at Dickson Road has an ISVA service, a professional, confidential advisor to offer one-to-one support to survivors of sexual violence and rape, and to deal with the after effects of sexual violence. You are most certainly NOT alone.
We hope you will come to see us, Mondays and Tuesdays 9am to 8pm, other week days 9am to 5pm.
Horizon Dickson Road is also the base for our two outreach teams, who take our support and services in to the local community.
The Sexual Health Outreach Team go into the community to support street and venue sex workers, venues for men who have sex with men, and other places where we can help to reduce harm. They visit public sex environments such as cruising areas - with condom packs and home HIV testing kits.
The Assertive Outreach Team go to help bring people back into substance misuse treatment if they miss appointments, help transport clients to treatment if necessary and work with rough sleepers and other "hard to engage" groups of people.
